Lay-Up & Rehabilitation Program
Copper Crowne Veterinary Center combines more than 30 years in thoroughbred medical rehabilitation, post-op and lay-up care. We provide on-site veterinary services or will consult with your vet. Our programs and brand new, state-of-the-art facilities are designed to give excellent care for safe, speedy recovery of injured horses, stress-free lay-ups, boarding and careful nurturing to bring your horse back to peak condition. Custom feed, medications and supplements as required are available along with monitoring each horse’s medical condition.

Copper Crowne’s experienced personnel will work with your horse on a daily basis. Medications, bandaging, hand-walking and aqua-therapy can complete your customized program. Stall rest is easy in our large, well-bedded and ventilated stalls. Once your horse is ready for the pasture, we have over 200 acres of lush, oak-shaded paddocks ranging in size from ¼ to 20 acres for individual turn-outs. Your horse will be slowly worked, conditioned and legged-up to be able to return to the track. Easy access to Copper Crowne’s new 6 1/2 furlong sand-based training track will ensure a full recovery over a safe and consistent training surface.
